  • Stock up on supplies beforehand. Don't wait until after the Rapture because you will be competing with all the other survivors for scarce resources.
  • Demons are essentially immune to fire. Don't bother trying to destroy them using a device like a flame-thrower. It will end in disaster.
  • A toilet cistern is a good source of water uncontaminated by ash. You could sterilise it further by boiling it or using an iodine tablet.
  • Demons are only affected by iron weapons. Run as fast as you can unless you have an iron sword or iron-tipped bullets.
  • Make sure you have a portable cooker and a supply of gas canisters. The last thing you want to be doing is eating cold food.
  • Pentacles are useful for keeping demons at bay. Of course, if you happen to smudge any part of your chalk outline, the pentacle is essentially useless.
  • Pets can be both helpful and a hindrance. Dogs can serve as early warning devices against demons. Unfortunately, demons have excellent senses and will be able to smell them for miles. Also food will be in short supply. Will you have food to spare for your beloved pet?
  • A safe place to spend the night is essential. Look for a refuge that has solid walls (preferably rock). Windows or doors with iron are a deterrent for even the most determined demon.
  • Keep your eyes on the sky. A flying demon could easily sneak up on you unawares and carry you to the nearest portal to Hell.
  • Camping supply stores are your best place to gather equipment for the coming Rapture. Make sure you have a tent to avoid choking on ash while you sleep.
  • Be wary of strangers. They probably want what you have. It's survival of the fittest – you or them. Do you really have enough to go around?
  • Some demons can take human form. An easy test is to touch them with a cross or a bible. If smoke starts pouring from the contact points, you can be fairly sure you are dealing with a demon.
  • Hallowed ground such as churches can offer respite and protection from demons. Of course, if the ground has been desecrated, you'd best seek a better refuge because demons can then enter the grounds freely.
  • If you a holed up for a while, make sure you regularly check the roof. Ash could easily set fire to it or a flying demon could get access through any hole.
  • Caves are excellent places to hide from demons. Even their heightened senses would struggle to find you and there are no concerns about fire. Earthquakes could be problematic though.
  • Keep stashes of supplies in other areas. If you have to evacuate quickly, you may not have time to gather everything you need to survive.
  • Canned food is better than dehydrated food. Water will be in short supply and you may not have enough to reconstitute the dried food. Canned food is of course heavier, so you will be limited as to how much you can carry.

The Rapture is coming. Jesus will return to Earth, the meek will rise to Heaven, and the rest remain in Hell.

And where will that day first dawn? At the edge of the world, in a place named after the last time Jesus arrived ... Christmas Island.

The countdown is on.

Read 'Rapture' before the Rapture.
